Seriously cheesy

And now for something completely different. If you have the time and the spends make  your way to the Royal Bath and West Show this week (on until June 4th) and check out the amazing cheesy dresses on display, made from some of Pilgrims Choice’s finest Red Leicester, Mature and Vintage truckles, heat-moulded to form different shapes.

In April, the company ran a competition asking budding designers to come up with some Cheese Couture, a challenge eagerly accepted by undergraduates at Bath Spa University.

Take Lisa Dillon as an example. She crafted a pair of delicious Jimmy Cheese shoes, using a block of cheddar as the heel, a stale sandwich as the platform sole and melted cheese as embellishments.

Hannah Jenkins from Pilgrims said: “Food has become a source of fashion inspiration – the world went gaga for that famous meat ensemble. Their creativity and ingenuity has stunned us and we thought we knew all there was to know about cheese. Who would have known that cheese could look so chic?”

Even the lactose intolerant will get a kick out this display – there’s also a cheese bag to feast your eyes upon – so head on down to Somerset and check out this cheese board with a difference. Yum yum yum.

Have your say
